Overall I think the event could have had better logistics. First and foremost, parking was unclesr
What a disaster!! Below are the issues that I encountered. I really hope the promoters of this event read my feedback. I hope it will help them improve the overall experience of future events.
Parking- It was a little confusing. Once you parked, you had to download an app, set up an account and pay. I suggest hiring a few parking attendants at the entrance who will take your parking fees and issue a ticket for your dashboard. This is still standard at many concert and sporting events.
Entrance – I asked the guy that checked ID’s for wristbands a basic event question and he said, “I don’t really know. I’m just here to verify ID’s.” You would think event workers would be better prepared with basic event FAQ’s.
Security – There was minimal security at the event and I was surprised that security was non-existent at the entrance. With all of the crazy events in the world today, I think the venue entrance should have been staffed with vigilant security. I recommend metal detectors and an explosives detection canine. Proper security costs money but it’s best to invest in preventative measures to ensure the safety of all guests and performers.
Food – The food truck assortment was meager at best. I would suggest food vendors that can set up pop up work stations.
Restrooms – There were plenty of portable restrooms which was a smart idea. However, the water and paper towels ran out early during the event. This means that the event organizers/promoter should have hired or assigned an event employee to monitor this area for replenishment.
Drinks – The whole VIP status was a joke. I didn’t purchase the VIP beer tasters option yet I had to wait in line with all of the people that did. Since they were served mini beer cups, they constantly stayed in line for additional refills. A separate line should have been set up for those willing to pay full price for a drink. VIP should ALWAYS be in a different line.
MOST importantly, they did not take cash and swiped my debit card. Unfortunately, they swiped my card incorrectly and now I have to deal with my bank with a dispute. They charged me double on a single transaction. Looking back, they should have issued a receipt for every transaction.
VIP – Why on earth would you rope off an entire side of the venue for VIP? VIP is fine but isn’t it usually the area closer to the stage NOT the entire side of the venue? As a non VIP we watched from behind netted soccer goals. It was so odd!!
Sound – The Thompson Twins headlined and after a few minutes experienced sound issues. They stopped and stepped off stage. They came back and less than 5 minutes later had more sound issues and stepped off the stage again. At this point, the vibe was killed and people including myself started to head for the exit. I’m pretty sure Tom Bailey was frustrated and a little embarrassed.
Gene Love Jezebel played on 3 songs!! Really?
Overall, I think this event had so much potential with so many interested fans but it was an epic failure. I probably should have known better when I realized that the event was at a local neighborhood sports complex.
PLEASE!! Do better!! If you need help, I am connected to music and entertainment and would love to contribute to future successful 80’s music event.
Such a poorly run show. Every detail was left behind.
You should refund customers for parking and bands who do not show up. Everyone was puzzled about it last night. $$

Rip off!!! When I bought my vip tickets i was offered parking pass for $25.00 When I get there the parking was $10.00 and they wouldn’t take my parking pass. First they charge 150% mark up on parking and then they don’t even take it and you have to pay again. The lines for drinks, even water, where an hour long. Cluster fuck!
I can’t seem to find contact information for anyone. I paid and extra $150 for the meet and great specifically for Tom Bailey and it didn’t happen. I am so disappointed.
I did a give away with Stoney pizza . As you see I won. I won the night before the event . I sent messages out to Stoney pizza asking how do I get my tickets . She had told me to reach out to Scott Tucker he was the promoter who set the giveaway up . When trying to reach Scott Tucker no response . Had my friend drive all the way from Santa Barbara to go with me . Was trying to contact @Scott Tucker all night before the show and all day starting at 6am the morning of . Nothing absolutely. Nothing . So this guy Scott contacts me the next day . Basically telling me he was busy all day and wasn’t able to contact me. Just wanna let everyone know that does know this gentleman that is a promoter of Huntington Beach Events is a total disrespectful person. He makes a promise and did not go through with it made me get together with a girlfriend getting ready to go to this event that I won as a giveaway and now is telling me too bad. So if you know Scott Tucker this is how he treats people !!!! completely. Unacceptable  . Thanks for nothing Scott Tucker !!!
